If you are like me, you are tired of all of these no names posting guaranteed locks and 500 star plays of the year and all of that bullsh!t. If you really want to see who the good cappers are, check out the contest run by G.Money (The Bluegrass and Sportbet Challenge). These guys are the true handicappers. You can see who actually knows their shit and who doesn't.

In the NFL these guys are all above 50%.

Good post, couldn't agree more. Hard to tell people they are too stupid to post but we plan on doing something about the dumbest of the dumb.

Don't know if I fully agree with this. Just because you don't or rarely post plays doesn't mean you don't "know your sh!t"....as Kman put it. I can just about guarantee you that some of the best at this site don't or very rarely post their picks here.

disagree. For example, anybody playing playeronly69's basketball plays would be getting buried. Just because he is leading that contest does not make him a good handicapper. I have seen his plays. He is average at best.

don`t post here much anymore, but i can offer a little advice.....if you can`t cap your own games, don`t have the time or just don`t want to,i`d look to guys that post rationale with their plays.....

any momo can post plays and get lucky...even have an occasional good season....it`s a 50-50 proposition....anybody can post a list of plays....if they can use a computer...

i cap my own but peruse several forums looking for information....and there`s some good info out there...there`s some solid info here.....and some good cappers...

look for guys that SHOW YOU why they like a game...that give reasons....there are way to many people on forums across the net that bet home teams or regional teams regardless of the logic or lack thereof....a guy like hansen comes to mind as an example of one who gives GOOD regional info...he`ll give you an honest opinion on the gophers... a negative one if that`s his feeling....

certainly not a shot at kman or his excellent thread......i`m sure he and the others on the list are solid....the records speak for themselves....

but if you are gonna follow...put your hard earned money down on the say-so of another,it makes common sense to know what they`re thinking....what their motivation is....

btw...why people recruit followers or like having guys coattail their picks week in and week out is beyond me......i don`t like the responsibility..people are putting real money on your word......i`ll only post an occasional play when i feel extremely convinced that it has a strong possiblity of getting the money...

it`s hard to play numerous games every week....every single thursday, friday and monday night game with honest conviction....that`s nuts,imo.....

i`d saty away from guys that play to many games....

money doesn`t grow on trees...

good thread,k.......should get some interesting perspective on the issue......

sphincter , I have always had mixed feelings about "write~ups" regarding why someone likes a particular game(s). The reason is, I, or anyone else, could make up just about anything to "butter up" a selection or make it sound like a "sure thing". But, think about it, their selection isn't guaranteed, and the same goes for an article someone writes describing exactly why they like a certain team. In the end, the write~up means just about the same as their initial selection does.......Either play it.....or don't......Just about every one of us has liked a certain team, only to read someone else's explanation as to why they like the opposite side, therefore changing our minds, playing their side instead, and then losing the bet because we read something that changed our opinion.......And I don't have to explain to you at all how that makes you feel.......

This might be the dumbest quote in the history of the RX ( and ID didn't make it ):

You're right Tony, that doesn't make him a good handicapper.... it makes him the best out of that whole group for that period of time.

Good ole max replying to a post once again. I see you never post picks. Thats because you suck at handicapping. Just keep sending and sending and sending offshore. Never no payouts LOL

good points,hache....

my opinions were based on guys just following picks....coattailers...

if guys are going to follow picks mindlessly, not really having any opinions on a game themselves,i wonder why they are doing this in the first place...

if they are seriously doing it to supplement their income,or because they really need the money,i`d suggest a part-time job as a much more sensible alternative....

i have to think that guys gamble because they are sportsfans,ex-jocks,or do it as a sort of hobby.....they enjoy the games and like the action....

my point was that if you choose to blindly follow,it would be nice to know WHY someone else is spending your money.....

not saying that written opinion is golden....look at all the rag sheets filled with info that is basically taking an opposite side of another rag with an equally good write-up...paralysis by analysis...

just saying that we see(yes even at the rx)some guys that time and again throw out,in some cases, ridiculous games involving home teams...repeatedly....with shitty results....and no rationale.....

if i was coatailing,i would just feel more comfortable knowing some guy did some homework before plopping my green down on a play....

rather than taking a blind pick from a guy with an ego problem that rolled out of bed and picked a team out of the newspaper....

analysis isn`t always the answer....but i never passed a test without cracking the book...

Most cappers here, you can pretty much tell after a week or so if they are legit or so, or just blowing hot air.

I applaude those guys that are in the contests, especially the one around 55-60%.

Some guys, like Pat McIrish or Hansen Bros., may not be in the contests, but I would not worry about that one bit. Those guys have solid reputations, which is sometimes means more than proving it in a contest.

My two cents worth and good luck

"How come anthony is not on the list"

You wont find me on any list that tracks one unit plays. The whole key to making a living betting on sports is to bet more on your winners than your losers. I can go 1-5 and win money. Anybody who thinks betting a certain % of their bankroll on every game is just what the bookies are looking for.You gotta know when to fire.

Anthony,

Anyone following your picks at the levels you suggest was broke three posting ID's ago. As far as making money, you couldn't pay the General a f*cking $100 bill so don't act like you have anything, ok? You admitted you're a loser and we all agreed (except ID, but she'd do anything for a friend on this forum ). Keep making your monopoly money picks and we'll all keep enjoying the show.

I'd like to book your picks but that would mean you'd have to have money and we all know that's not the case. I heard Target's having a sale on Monopoly games in case you need to reload after your next disaster.

Tony Richkas,
If you wouldn't post the words Guaranteed, Mortal Lock, Easy Money, Automatic, etc... people wouldn't bust your chops all the time. I know that by doing it you get the attention and the page views that you want, but it causes other problems any and every time you post.

Now that you have responded to some posts in this thread I am starting to think that you really aren't some 15 year old kid like so many claim you are. If you simply posted plays (even with your star or number system for units and strength of game) you might see your name on a future list. I did used to read your posts for a chuckle, but even that got old. Too much hatred in your thread every time you post.

As far as the "best cappers" on the site, your list only shows people that post or reply to your "monitoring" of there play. That is flawed already... I can honestly say that the hottest capper in NCAA FB right now is a guy named GEEK.

I think he is a posted and eye popping 13-1 (give or take one game) in the last two weeks....

...that said, if you don't read his picks or follow his plays you would never know. He doesn't tout his plays or beat his chest in the forum every time he has a good week. Oh, and I don't think he has ever said one of his games was a lock ever!
icon_wink.gif
Just a point for the young ens' out there.

Good thread, but I wouldn't put any more belief into any of these guys as the people who I read every week.

G/L tonight!

BTF.
